I?m going to make a guess at what Oscar Wilde was getting at when he made such a statement- I've written sheer drivel from true genuine sore feelings. Wordsworth had my same problem (I know... I know... I know... I'm comparing myself to WW!!!) But i…

I think what Oscar Wilde meant was that the poet should not be influenced by his/her own feelings, emotions, or experiences but should be detached and write about other people's (everyone's) feelings and emotions. This is probably good advice, but i…

:) Hi, I'm agree with Oscar wilde; People may have quite genuine feelings and may feel a need to write poems. If they are not capable enough to create good poetry; it will be exposed as bad poetry.. Untalentedness will harm poems but do not effect f…

I think being able to write poetry is a gift of soul...no matter what state one's soul is in... The ability to create and draw words like an artist would, must start from a source, which may be emotions themselves. But, just a question, how is the…

I think most poetry does come from genuine feeling, whether its good or not is up to the reader I suppose.

Poem #1
Night of the Truth

The evil predator kisses the night
To make it awake for him to delight.
The moon and the stars seems to hide
To dim their light to stop his stride.
Hiding among bushes with evil eyes
He waits his prey to weakly mound.
Piercing young flesh with ugly claws
He sucks blood like a thirsty hound.
The sky flashes with nature's light
To see him feasting on his frail bait.
The quiver ran down my chilling spine
To see his guilty eyes piercing mine.
Crying to myself, is this you?
Chanting to myself, Oh God, is this true?

World's Enemy

Look away, I do not sympathize
With you anymore, for I realize
That you are not a saviour of crime
But a replenished hypocrite in prime.
Go away, I am not your partner
In lies and deception, I am however
Someone who wants the truth to unfold
To survive in this grievous world.
You taught me love is for the art's
To play with other's trembling heart's
But I know for sure love is for the kind
And gentle who thrives the wicked's grind.
These enemies will no longer be reflect

I don't know how to pronounce your name , but you sure are pretty
so I shall just say it that way . HaHa! I am so pleased that you accepted my invitation to be my friend . You seem to have a wonderful soul
within you .
I also noticed that you referenced a quote by Oscar Wilde . I wouldn't pay too much heed to that quote . I think Oscar was either drunk or having a bad day when he said that . HaHaHa! He had many bad days in his life . So just ignore it , it simply can't be what he or anyone who is human could believe . People just aren't that way in
their response to poetry . I wish you all the best .
