Poem #1
Books of the Mind
Dream to dream,
Book to book.
The turning of thought
And one's page.
Seam to seam,
Look to look.
The mind to find,
Deep search one does wage.
Time to time
This book of mind,
Endless chapters,
Brainstormed to the rafters.
A twist or turn,
The absence of parts learned,
Oh yes,
The next page to turn.
Learn, learn, learn- oops!
Turn, turn, turn.
Joseph Scott Morris
Poem #2
Roaring waves of Life
[Revision 2009]
Life between the tides...
Among waves of pride
Quaking from the deep...
Onto the shallow
To seas of life surfing
Deceit so hallow
In this life there has to-
Be some hope...
Between the highest waves-
And its scope
Great splashes of life...
Great roaring this strife
Finding of peaceful land...
Anchor and withstand
No matter the waves
Or what they may send...
The roaring waves in life
And where they will end.
Joseph Scott Morris
Poem #3
This Broken Mirror
Time reflections resonate to my heart;
Even so, the Years have not aged this love.
Silly, as this parting was meant to be,
How sad, as those shared dreams of yesterday;
Echo their cries in the depths of my soul.
Does not time heal the scars of pain endured,
Solid walls built on passages throughout.
Reviewing documents stored in my chest,
Revealing to me is our special day;
Announcement card we shared with everyone,
A beautiful angel all dressed in white.
Silly, as this parting was meant to be,
How sad, as those shared dreams of yesterday;
Echo their cries in the depths of my soul.
